One Book, One College 2021-2022

Join us on March 10, 2022, as we welcome Timothy Egan, author of The Big Burn, to Reedley College for the annual One Book, One College event. The One Book, One College program was implemented at Reedley College in the fall of 2015 to promote conversations about literature among students, staff, and faculty.

The Big Burn by Timothy Egan was first published on October 19, 2009. The book tells the story of the biggest wildfire in The United States, which in 1910 burned more than three million acres. The author informs the reader on how forest rangers struggled to tame the flames, and he also gives detailed information on how President Teddy Roosevelt and his chief forester, Gifford Pinchot, created the United States Forest Service to help persevere the national forests.
