1. Making hot cocoa
During these upcoming Chilly days, we all should treat ourselves to a nice, warm, soul healing hot drink. The drink of choice, perfect for the cold weather, would be Hot cocoa. Now personally, I like my hot cocoa with some peppermint for that added spice factor. Another thing I would add for that extra flavor and sweet boost is Cookie Dough creamer. Ok here my out here, a splash of this creamer in some Hot Cocoa could heal any broken soul. If you don’t have much of a sweet tooth, maybe stick to the old-fashioned Hot cocoa, and of course add the iconic marshmallow or
some whip cream on top. Overall, having some hot cocoa is a must have during the winter to warm up both the body and soul.
2. Baking
Who doesn't like a good homemade sweet treat! Baking during the winter makes things extra more comfy and just warm. From baking cookies to making cakes, there's so much you could bake for this winter season. For any beginner in the world of baking I suggest baking cookies, especially the iconic chocolate chip cookies, which go perfectly with some hot cocoa! Baking can be a solo or group activity, maybe baking with some friends or family. For the parents out there, try baking some sweet treats with the kiddos and create those fun memories together.
3. Reading
Picture this, sitting in a cozy room, with soft lighting, sipping on a warm cup of cocoa, and enjoying freshly baked treats. You're wrapped in fluffy blankets and gaze upon the pile of unread books. This season is the perfect chance for you to read those books you’ve yet to open! As mentioned before, try reading a book this winter season! Get all warm and cozy, and pick out a book you’ve not or haven't read before. To enhance that coziness, turn on the fireplace video on the TV, wear comfortable clothes, and curl up with the blankets, then read your book of choice. If you enjoy mystery/thriller books . I recommend, Dead Eleven by Jimmy Juliano , which is about a man trying to uncover the truth behind his sister’s disappearance and her connection to a mysterious island and its sinister residents.
4. Hanging out with friends
As the title suggests, hanging out with friends or family is a great way to spend time during this chilly season. From playing board games to even going out in the frosty air. Spending time with people who are near and dear to you can make this icy season melt away the bitter winter blues
5. Arts and crafts
If boredom has plagued you this winter, don’t be bored for long! There are so many easy crafts for anyone to try out from making holiday cards to learning to sew and making charms from air-dry clay. Crafts during the winter is the perfect way to make some more heartfelt gifts all the while you are saving money from buying gifts. There are so many different crafts out there for the picking. I enjoy making jewelry or press flowers to make bookmarks and such. If you are lost in what craft to do, go pick up any craft kit at your local craft store. Who knows, you might pick up a new hobby as you discover the world of arts and crafts. For the artist out there, let this be a
sign to pick up your preferred material and get to creating.
6. Going on walks
Since we are on longer in the summer seasons, we tend to lock ourselves indoors to stay warm. However, since we are in the earlier stages of winter there's a possibility you are missing out on the beauty of nature. When the air is pleasant, and the gentle breeze caresses your skin, it is a perfect time to embark on a delightful stroll and truly immerse yourself in the beautiful enchanting winter beauty of nature.
7. Watching a movie
The final way to cure the winter blues, we have arguably the best way which is a good ole movie. From watching a movie at home to going to the movie theater. What's so great about movies is that you can watch them alone or together with friends. It doesn’t even have to be a holiday movie, there are plenty of good movies out in theaters right now. Watching a movie at home is nice as well, with having hot cocoa, and eating yummy sweet treats. Movie time is an excellent way to spend time with family and friends.
